Description:
Position Purpose:
The Risk Management Officer & Audit Liaison is responsible for ensuring that the Bank maintains an adequate and effective Enterprise Risk Management program, thus ensuring the Bank is in full compliance with all banking laws, rules, and regulations. This role manages and builds relationships with internal and external auditors. Key Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Expectations:
Serve as a leader by providing support, management, and development opportunities for all areas of the Risk Management team.
Develop, administer, and improve the bank's risk management readiness through communication and training programs. Promote organization-wide understanding of risks and risk management strategies.
Recommend to the Risk Management Committee the allocation of capital to areas identified as exposure to the bank based on risk.
Proactively work with senior management to identify and assess the operational risks associated with business activities, ensuring alignment with the ERM framework.
Meet regularly with executive management to ensure appropriate risk management strategies are employed throughout the Bank.
Serve as director of CIVB Risk Management, Inc.
Meet with executive management to review and strategize indicators of risk in initiatives and M&A exploration. Create business continuity plans to mitigate risk.
Coordinate and participate in policy and compliance audits. Build and manage the relationships with internal and external regulators and auditors for the entire organization.
Investigate any incidences that may result in an asset loss.
Provide Risk analysis and findings to the Board during the monthly Bank & Holding Company meetings.
Oversight of Software Management specific to Risk Department. Maintain documentation and relationship with vendors. Ensure contracts are reviewed in a timely manner.
All other duties as assigned and any activities that support the key accountabilities.
. Requirements:
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum seven years of progressive experience in the banking field, preferably in the compliance/audit areas.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
FRM, CIA, and/or CERP designations preferred.
Strong knowledge of compliance standards for the industry, including financial, property, operational, or personnel reporting, regulations, and standards.
Proven ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization.
Solid computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite) with accurate data entry skills.
Detail oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Ability to identify and resolve problems.
High level of confidentiality required.
Physical Requirements:
Work involves eye strain due to the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, working with spreadsheets and so forth.
Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions.
Work involves lifting and moving files of up to 15 lbs.
Work involves ability to read, hear, write, and communicate professionally both in person and via telephone.
Work involves some travel to attend meetings, training, and so forth.
