Under the direction of the Manager, Revenue Integrity, the CREDENTIALED REVENUE INTEGRITY ANALYST
will be responsible for performing charge audits on patient charts (ie.Medical Record) upon request from leadership for reasons for treatment, payment or operations.


The CREDENTIALED REVENUE INTEGRITY ANALYST is responsible for promoting revenue enhancement and compliance with billing regulations through the performance of charge audits ensuring complete documentation and accurate charge capture and timely billing.


The CREDENTIALED REVENUE INTEGRITY ANALYST must have skills and knowledge that span the UW Medicine Revenue Cycle from initial business process analysis and report data gathering, error resolution, denial/write-off reduction, to process analysis and improvement.  This role is responsible for working with a diverse group of people from All UW Medicine entities to identify revenue cycle improvement opportunities.  This requires an understanding of Clinic/Department Revenue Cycle Operational processes, and an understanding of Epic applications, data/business intelligence tools, ensure that the clinical documentation contained within the patient chart supports items or services that appear on the patients bill, and ensures that all items and services provided are included on the patient bill.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
REVIEW, REMEDIATE, AND EDUCATE ON CHARGE CAPTURE / REIMBURSEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Identify charge capture/reimbursement issues and resolutions using available mechanisms [Epic BOE SSRS reports, Revenue Guardian, etc.] and performs validation through comprehensive chart review to identify missed/erroneous charges
Perform analysis and troubleshooting for charge capture / missing charge resolution and denial mitigation. 


REVIEW, REMEDIATE, AND EDUCATION ON DENIALS
Perform analysis and troubleshooting for denial mitigation
Assist with and document the development of new operational procedures / processes related to denial management


EPIC WORK QUEUE ISSUE RESOLUTION
Perform daily maintenance and quarterly audits of Epic Charge Review, Charge Router, Account Work queues and Error Pool


SPECIAL PROJECTS / PROCESS IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES
Partner with HIM, Coding, Epic Core Team, Revenue Cycle and Clinical teams to support performance improvement opportunities


REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree and/or equivalent applicable experience in HIM / Coding / Charge Capture and / or as a Hospital Clinic / Department manager, supervisor or charge lead role.
Knowledge and experience with Medicare/Medicaid and CMS regulations
3 years of Epic Experience (HB Resolute, Willow, OpTime, ClinDoc, Radiant, Cupid, Beacon)
Candidate should possess any of the following credentials: RHIA/RHIT/CCS/COC/RN/LPN or other related healthcare credential
At least five years experience in the healthcare industry.  Extensive experience in with hospital billing or reimbursement.  Understanding of CMS regulations and ability to interpret healthcare guidelines and regulations.
Proven analytical, verbal and written communications skills.
Experience may be substituted for requirements

 

DESIRED:
Experience working in HIM / Coding and / or Revenue Cycle is desired. 
Clinic Operations or Outpatient department expertise from working in specialty clinics or departments is desired and beneficial for this role, particularly specialty procedural areas.
Epic Certifications (HB Resolute, Willow, OpTime, ClinDoc, Radiant, Cupid, Beacon). Utilization Review or Case Management experience.  Strong coding and/or clinical background (RN) and/or coding certification (CPC/COC/CPC-H/RHIA/CCS/CDIP/CCDS)

Ability to use a keyboard and computer for extended periods of time.
