Position Summary

The Accounting & Finance Rookie will be rotated across accounting functions to assist in executing the vision for the accounting team. He/She will support month end-closing process, maintaining general ledgers and ensuring the proper processing of all transactions in accordance with the company’s policies.

Areas of Learning & Responsibilities


Support managers complete daily tasks (e.g. verification, checks & reconciliation)
Understand each function’s (e.g. R2R, P2P & O2C) daily processes and goals
Provide administrative support (e.g. data entry)
Get familiar with personnel duties
Participate in month-end closing activities
Ensure sub-ledgers reconcile to the general ledger
Adhere to policies and procedures for proper internal control
Ensure that the processing and execution of all transactions are in line with the company's policies


What exposures will you gain by the end of the internship?


Exposure to the foundation of accounting in a retail industry
Ability to understand and gain hands-on experience to support month-end closing and day-to-day operation
How to communicate across a diverse organisation with many different cultures, geographies and preferences


Who are we looking for?


A keen learner who is detail-oriented, resourceful & driven
Understands the need for ownership and possesses a sense of urgency with strong follow-up skills and the ability to work with tight deadlines
Able to work with a team/independently where needed
Willing to listen, to include and to respect the beliefs of teammates
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with a focus on Excel
