Description

The Director, Investment Portfolio Management requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

Responsibilities

Humana's Corporate Development function has a unique purview thanks to the breadth of potential investments under consideration, ranging in size from multi-billion-dollar transactions to venture investments. The broad scope of transactions includes provider centric assets, Medicaid, Medicare, Homecare, and IT services. The Director of Investment Portfolio Management in Corporate Development role is to help Humana mange its minority investments, venture capital, and private equity relationships through partnership with senior executive in the organization. This role will seek to maximize the value creation from our investments and ensure accountability to Management and the Board.

Key Responsibilities


Works with business units to develop non-organic growth strategies, landscape monitoring, and proactive target strategy
Manages private equity, venture capital, and various investor relationships
Develop objective portfolio and deal reviews for review with management and Board Members
Maintains perspective for potential internal asset restructuring opportunities
Manages and streamlines internal approval processes (Investment Committee)
Actively manages inbound investment opportunities through strategic filtering
Support internal board members of Invest Co's to scale and synergize with HUM for maximum value creation


Required Qualifications


8 yrs experience working with merges and acquisitions, business development, or venture capital
5 yrs of leadership skills with an interest in growing a business.
Experience in strategic planning and business development execution plans.
Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
Extensive experience formulating partnerships vision, strategy, and execution plans.
Proven experience starting from scratch to develop, negotiate and structure complex deals.
Ability to build strong customer relationships and drive customer satisfaction.
Understanding corporate business development, market expansions & acquisitions, and ability to align business needs and values to prioritize business development targets for establishing new partnerships.
Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to influence and build relationships with people across all levels and organizations internally and externally
An entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative team player, including a high tolerance for ambiguity, a penchant for experimentation, and a bias towards action.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint applications
Strong work ethic, detail orientation and passion for excellence
Knowledge of general financial and accounting principals
Experience building and evaluating financial models
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, sales or a related field


Preferred Qualifications


Experience at a Top Tier M&A investment banking practice, M&A advisory firm or private equity fun
Master's Degree
Healthcare industry, project management, and private equity experience is a plus


Additional Information

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.
