Mortgage Processor 
General Summary
Reports to the Mortgage Underwriting Manager and is responsible for receiving and processing loan submissions sent in by GECU members and/or GECU approved Brokers.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Process Retail and/or Refinance and Purchase loans Specialize in Broker or Retail
Complete Preliminary underwriting on files when received from Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) or Broker.
Communicate with Borrower/Broker regarding conditions required to get file ready for UW.
Analyze income and credit issues with UW when necessary.
Complete GECU required mortgage lending BAI Training sessions.
Process Construction/Renovation and Out-of-State loans.
Conducts preliminary UW of Correspondent files; communicate with Correspondent Lenders while collection required docs for file approval.
Maintain the required MLO designation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must understand and comply with all required federal and state regulations associated with this position.
Must be able to speak and understand fluent English.
Requirements
Associates degree in Finance/Business related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum two years of experience in mortgage lending.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to organize and analyze financial information.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
