Job Details:
SUMMARY:
The Manager, Trade Optimization is the subject matter expert on optimal trade strategy supporting Tyson Retail business units. He/She will own the relationship and serve as a single point of contact for the businesses supported. He/She will lead the analysis of trade promotion events to uncover opportunities for improved ROI and influences tangible improvements for a given Business Unit and key customers.
He/She develops analyses and insights regarding the incrementality and profitability of trade promotions. He/She then develops scenarios and specific recommendations to optimize trade promotion guidelines, trade fund allocation across sub-categories/brands (within a business unit) and across customers/channels. He/ She influences key stakeholders and strategy development based on the recommendations to optimize trade and return.
REQUIREMENTS:
Develop and educate on trade tools, policies and procedures to deliver the company's business objectives, brand equity, financial requirements. Works closely with SS&P, pricing, and marketing teams to implement pricing strategies, policies, and procedures.
Lead the development of recommendations to maximize trade performance and ROI as well as minimize and manage risk of revenue loss of trade promotions
Define and implement processes and procedures on analytical trade promotional projects to ensure consistency.
Lead reviews or studies and present those findings to drive changes in promotional guidelines and customer plans.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree required
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years of work experience in Sales Finance, Business Development, Category Management, Sales or Revenue Management. Retail CPG experience preferred.
Proven ability in understanding how to fuse 3rd party and internal data and understands the importance of accurate account data.
Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while working independently and in teams
Proficient problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities
Skilled in effective leadership, strategic influencing, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Proficient financial acumen
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficient in Microsoft Office [excel, outlook, word, power point]
Proficient in Syndicated Data usage [mining & gathering]
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Proven leadership and collaboration skills; ability to influence and build consensus across teams.
Partner with key customer field teams & key customers to help them develop their trade promotional plans.
Talented in ability to explain statistical concepts to a non-technical audience, breakdown complexity, construct a story and influence a bias for action.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Proven negotiation skills; ability to lead complex customer negotiations of pricing and trade spend.
