Position Overview:
The Bankruptcy Oversight Specialist is responsible for handling all activities related to the bankruptcy action in accordance with statutory compliance, regulatory compliance, and company guidelines. This position is responsible for managing bankruptcy timelines and workflow processes on files in which a bankruptcy has been filed. These files should be managed in accordance with established work rules, goals & objectives to improve timeline and attorney performance. The candidate will be expected to establish/maintain a culture of team collaboration, accountability, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to customer service and satisfaction.
Working Relationships:
The Bankruptcy Oversight Specialist reports to the Bankruptcy Manager. The Bankruptcy Oversight Specialist must develop strong working relationships with both internal business partners and outside counsel.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsible for servicing mortgage accounts to ensure the bankruptcy is processed in compliance with all state and federal laws while maintaining compliance with Investor, Insurer, Agency and company guidelines. This includes the following:
Conducts a complete reviews of bankruptcy files to ensure all default timeframes have been met
Manages bankruptcy proceedings on assigned cases by interacting and instructing various parties such as mortgagors, attorneys, investors, insurers, trustees, appraisers and any other party involved with the bankruptcy
Monitors attorney performance by reviewing all proceedings, records and timeframes in addition to working all system/database activities throughout the bankruptcy process
Diligently follows up on all outstanding requests from internal and external partners
Accesses bankruptcy trustee websites to determine the status on payments to trustee
Audits all bankruptcy accounts for payment compliance and ensures proper application to system of record
Performs required research on any loan with questionable items such as the application of payments, proper bankruptcy notification, and any other situation that may arise
Actively reviews and pursues all loss mitigation alternatives in all appropriate customer circumstances and forward any potential customers to the appropriate Loss Mitigation Department for consideration
Reports all litigated and class action suits to management
Manages reports geared to drive workflow
Manages exception reporting used as key controls for minimizing risk
Follow departmental and business policies with strict adherence
Prioritize allocated work to ensure timely and accurate resolution to both external and internal partners
Perform related duties as assigned by manager

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 3 Years Bankruptcy Experience Required
Minimum 2 Years Mortgage Servicing Experience Preferred
GSE and Government Experience Preferred
LoanSphere BK/FC Experience Preferred
MSP Experience Preferred
Knowledge of basic computer software programs to include Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet and Microsoft Outlook.
Requires an extreme attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict guidelines and procedures.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary internal and external customer service.
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Excellent oral communication skills, including ability to effectively coach, motivate, and lead staff.
