POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst will support the Finance Manager by assisting in budget preparation and expense management for the production, advocacy, influencer & media departments in order to meet financial objectives and contractual Licensee obligations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Assist in all financial functions for the MAE/Collateral Expense area:
    • Assist in all close, estimate and budgetary processes for the income statement and balance sheet
    • Assist in all monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting
    • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements
    • Assist CK Advertising Controller and Finance Manager on various ad-hoc requests (special projects, presentations, GAAP research, etc.)

ACTUALS

  • Timely and accurate review of actual results to ensure completion, accuracy, proper classification and compliance with US GAAP
  • Reconcile, analyze and assist in managing P&L and balance sheet accounts
  • Identify and communicate variances to estimate/budget
  • Monitor and analyze expenses, review/book journal entries and formal reconciliations and investigate/resolve variances in a timely manner
  • Review invoices and T&E expense reports to ensure they comply with company policy and are in line with the budget, reporting material variances

ESTIMATE

  • Understand estimate assumptions and review for reasonableness and timing, challenging where appropriate
  • Identify, communicate and track full year risks and opportunities
  • Track movement between various accounts and advertising jobs to ensure the department as a whole closes the year on budget

BUDGET

  • Assist with the preparation of the Calvin Klein Advertising bi-annual Budget process
  • Attend budget meetings and work with operational partners to complete budgets and Two Year Plans
  • Preparation of budget packages, templates and variance explanations
  • Consolidation of budgets
  • Assist in the preparation of top-level schedules and presentations
  • Ad-hoc analyses
  • Key liaison with Calvin Klein Advertising departments related to all financial matters:
    • Prepare monthly financials for review and attend monthly review meetings with department managers
    • Work with operational partners to understand their businesses, related processes and identify accounting and finance related questions/issues
    • Provide financial and accounting guidance and support to operational partners as needed
    • Work with the CK Advertising Controller and Finance Manager in resolving day-to-day accounting issues

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

  • Internal: Assigned department VP’s/managers/staff; Corporate departments (A/P, Tax, Human Resources); Internal Audit
  • External: Ernst & Young

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct:  N/A
  • Indirect: Provide informal coaching and guidance to less experienced department members and budget owners when interacting with them day-to-day

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist operational partners with the development and management of their respective MAE/Collateral budgets.

DECISION MAKING:

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities to ensure adherence to strict reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise judgment to assist in making good decisions that will result in proper application of PVH Accounting Policy and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY:

  • Must be proactive in analyzing and interpreting issues.
  • Must be organized and able to maintain multiple excel schedules on the day to day.

ENVIRONMENT:

  • Open work environment, fast-paced, deadline driven.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

  • 1 – 2 years of experience, preferably in corporate finance environment

Education:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance

Skills:

  • Experience with EssBase and SAP is a plus
  • Experience with Aura/DDS Financial Toolkit (MediaOcean) is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills & detail oriented
  • Ability to see the “big picture” while working with details
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to improve processes is a plus
  • PC skills – Microsoft Office (primarily Excel)
  • Flexibility to work as workload requires (Heavy workload required during key financial processes such as year-end, preparation of budgets and monthly close)
