Job Description:
What's the role -
Reporting to the Finance Manager Mobility the Finance Advisor will be part of a pool of Finance professionals supporting the Mobility classes of business including Supply, Distribution, Commercial Fuels, Retail and Lubricants. These classes of business are firmly placed in Shell’s growth pillar, they are the foundation of the strategic direction of customer centricity, supporting the energy transition with resilient performance.
Responsibilities include -
Provide analytical and commercial support to business stakeholders to deliver value and mitigate risk
Collaborate with sales teams to support the decision-making process, while ensuring risks have been properly identified and economic alternatives are adequately assessed
Consult subject matter experts on the robustness of the business control framework and related performance management process
Bring a growth orientated mindset and collaborate with business stakeholders to drive performance
Strong team player that strives to understand the business drivers of the performance unit, and has a keen interest in the energy transition along with the passion for contributing to solutions
Work on various opportunities across multiple classes of business. The work performed will change over time and will be prioritized based on value and risk, and professional development needs.
Skills and Requirements
What we need from you -
Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
At least three (3) years of finance experience, obtained or pursuing a CPA designation
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting.
Commercial mindset with an ability to apply analytical, and economic valuation knowledge
Flexibility and agility to deploy the appropriate finance skills to address the specific and varying business needs across the businesses they support, leveraging a matrix organization
Working through ambiguity, and within an organization that promotes creative and innovative ideas
Problem solving mindset bringing analytics and insights into a specific process or business opportunity, coupled with the ability to bring forward issues when there is uncertainty and incomplete information
Ability to collaborate across the wider Downstream Finance team
Contributes to the Shell core values of Honesty, Integrity and Respect for people
“Bottom line edge” to achieve the right outcomes and understanding of end-to-end value chains
