Fund Accounting Manager

Founded and led by billion-dollar investment and operations company Founder and Executive Chairman, Peter Rex, InvestRes (part of the Rex family of companies) is looking for a Fund Accounting Manager who will help support and drive a business that consists of ~$1B in assets under management and ~40 properties across 3 states.
Based out of Rex HQ in Austin, TX, the Fund Accounting Manager will be a key contributor in supporting the private equity and deal accounting function.
Primarily focused on fund/private equity work streams, but also supporting corporate consolidations, you will work with business leaders across multiple teams and have deep exposure to our investing and operating businesses.
The Ideal candidate has:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
CPA
5-8 years of accounting experience
Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles with an emphasis on investment partnerships, equity method accounting, and illiquid assets
Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail
Deadline-oriented with ability to complete assigned tasks independently
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
Proficiency with advanced accounting systems
Extreme ownership, ensuring deadlines are met
What you'll be doing:
Performing accounting for a portfolio of real estate investments held in PE funds, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven atmosphere
Performing accounting and consolidation for corporate entities
Calculating waterfalls of complex partnerships, funds and joint ventures
Preparing monthly financial statements for investment entities, detailed quarterly investor reporting, and consolidated financial statements for parent entities
Communicating directly with investors
Treasury functions
Investigating financial irregularities and provide explanations/recommendations
Recording calls, distributions and transfers
Processing, reconciling, and reviewing cash transactions, investments, and other financial transactions
Working with external auditors and tax accountants to ensure clean audits and on-time K-1 and tax reporting
Coordinating and working with the highest caliber talent including Controller, Portfolio Managers and executives
Providing training and guidance to new and existing team members
Preparing Ad Hoc Requests
