Aon is looking for an Equity Compensation Valuation Consultant for our San Francisco, CA or Philadelphia, PA locations. Aon Equity Solutions is the country’s leading full service provider of consulting services related equity based compensation – providing plan design, valuation, tax & financial accounting, performance monitoring & tracking, employee education and communication, corporate governance, and investor outreach services to hundreds of publicly traded companies each year. Due to the continued rapid growth of our practice we are seeking experienced professionals to join our valuation team. The primary responsibility of this position is to apply technical and analytical consulting skills to assist clients with the design and valuation of equity based compensation for financial accounting and reporting purposes. The ideal candidate has strong quantitative skills and will be familiar with the models used to value options and derivatives (Black-Scholes, latticed-based models, Monte Carlo simulations, etc.). Knowledge of the financial accounting standards and tax regulations related to equity based compensation is preferred. This position will have frequent communications with clients – often including members of the client’s senior leadership team. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to support multiple projects with minimal guidance or supervision are critical. Essentially, we are seeking a highly-motivated consultant, with a strong mathematical background and solid written and oral communication skills, as well as intellectual curiosity and a desire to stay up-to-date on an ever-evolving subject matter. It is anticipated that over time the responsibilities will expand to include account management and client development activities Job Responsibilities: Support account managers with projects, analyses, and other needs of clientsConstruct financial models based on geometric Brownian motion to estimate the fair value of equity based compensation within a risk neutral frameworkDevelop economic assumptions upon which the valuation equity based compensation is basedModel the potential financial accounting impact of alternative equity plans and programs to assist clients in maximizing the perceived value received by participants in the most efficient mannerApply traditional valuation models to other types of securities, including warrants, derivatives, and financial instruments with embedded optionalityUse statistical modeling to assess the difficulty of alternative performance goalsPrepare reports, exhibits, summaries, presentations, and recommendations for client deliverablesManage the deliverable schedules to clients to ensure timely completionConduct meetings and interactions with clients, focusing on customer serviceMonitor and address emerging issues for equity programs for client companiesAttend industry training and networking events as well as pursuing applicable industry designationsPerform and assist with market research for marketing collateral and business expansionMonitor client budgets and staff utilization to ensure profitability of engagementsPrepare and submit client invoices, and ensure timely collections You Bring Knowledge and Expertise Required Experience: Superior listening skills, the ability to develop insightful questions, and identify and implement the appropriate strategy to successfully address the clients issuesStrong written and oral communication skills, for interactions with clients and colleaguesFlexibility to work in situations where there is no unique right answerCPA and CEP designation desirableExperience in and comfortable with Microsoft Office applications: Excel with VBA, Word, and PowerPointAbility to collaborate well with colleagues in other offices in a fast-paced, team environment Preferred Experience: Strong foundation working with employee equity valuation is preferredConsulting experience related to stock based compensation, including stock option and derivative valuation, financial accounting, compensation consulting, and/or stock plan administrationWorking knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis and presentation, and creative problem solving Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, or related field We offer you A competitive total rewards package, continuing education & training, and tremendous potential with a growing worldwide organization.
