Work you’ll do
Deloitte is seeking a Senior Energy Specialist to be based in West Africa to serve on energy program project. The objective of the project is to expand supply of and access to affordable and reliable grid-connected electricity services in West Africa through a range of technical assistance, capacity building, and transactional support to advance Power Africa’s objective in the West Africa region.
The Senior Energy Specialists will be responsible for supporting the projects technical activities and driving results.
Role and Responsibilities:
Lead activities and intermediate results in one of the following areas: power project development (generation/transmission/distribution), Power Purchase Agreements, power system planning, design and implementation of electrification strategy, energy utility reform, tariff/pricing reform, regional power market development, regulatory and policy development
Leverage technical expertise and international energy development experience to inform strategic decision-making and bring
Perform managerial activities delivering a large-scale program with broad complexities and ensure high-quality delivery from a large, dispersed team.

We advise, implement, and operate transformational solutions that bring world-class supply network and operational capabilities to our clients. We provide operational know-how, digital technologies, advanced analytics, and industry-specific hybrid solutions to deliver unprecedented client value. Additionally, we improve operations, product, and material flow across the breadth of the value chain and create greater supply network synergy and value through M&A events.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s and degree in economics, engineering, finance, or other relevant field, particularly in energy sector
Minimum of 7 years working in the energy sector
Ability to write, communicate, and prepare engagement materials fluently in English
Preferred:
Prior professional services or federal consulting experience
Experience working in similar context in West Africa region
Previous experience with international donor agency programs
Demonstrated experience operating and managing teams in developing country environments, including conducting technical activities
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to solve complex problems
Ability to write, communicate, and prepare engagement materials fluently in French
