Description
The Accountant 1 performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects. The Accountant 1 work assignments are often straightforward and of moderate complexity.
Responsibilities
The Accountant 1 prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports. Understands own work area professional concepts/standards, regulations, strategies and operating standards. Makes decisions regarding own work approach/priorities, and follows direction. Work is managed and often guided by precedent and/or documented procedures/regulations/professional standards with some interpretation.
Required Qualifications
Less than 3 years of accounting related work experience and/or related bachelor's degree (accounting, finance, etc)
Excel proficiency (to include v look ups)
Previous Customer Service or Business Analysis experience, including working with customers and gathering requirements and calibrating results
Previous experience doing data analysis
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Associate/Bachelor's degree
SQLServer experience, including query databases and manipulate data, designing tables, queries, and stored procedures
Previous health insurance industry experience
Additional Information
Location: Three Parkway, Philadelphia, PA, or Remote Nationwide, but must be able to work EST hours
