POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Sr Financial Analyst will assist the Controller in identifying business objectives, opportunities and challenges. He or she will prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB: 

  • Responsible for the overall financial analysis, planning, control and compliance.
  • Month-end and year-end financial closings.
  • Annual budgets and three-year plans.
  • Expense planning and control.
  • Capital expenditure planning and control.
  • Monthly and annual planning, analysis and forecasting (including sales, inventory, gross margin, expenses, capital expenditures, balance sheet).
  • Financial statements (including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and all related schedules).
  • Create and deliver monthly financial updates and presentations.
  • Prepare necessary schedules for each quarter and year end to be reviewed by Corporate.
  • Prepare any adhoc reports necessary to analyze the business and/or growth opportunities including new store proformas, lease renewal p&ls

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience: 3-5 years prior accounting/finance experience, preferably in the

apparel industry or consumer products

        

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance or Accounting required.

Skills:                         

  • Proficiency in Microsoft package software programs
  • Knowledge of SAP financial packages (general ledger)
  • Knowledge of EssBase software (financial reporting)
  • Knowledge of lease accounting

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • P&L, balance sheets and all related sales, margin, expense and capital analyses.
  • Manages month end and year-end closing processes.
  • Develops annual fiscal budget in conjunction w/ the Controller.

DECISION MAKING:

  • Assists Divisional Controller, VP’s and SVP’s with all financial decisions.
  • Ensures all decisions and courses of action are in compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.
  • Responsible for the control of all expenses and capital expenditures.

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY: 

  • Requires ability to hit internal and external deadlines.
  • Requires ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Requires ability to handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires ability to generate value-added initiatives (strategic and tactical) to grow sales and earnings.
