Job Description
The Financial Analyst Co-op - Consumer USA reports to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis - Consumer USA and works with Sales, Marketing, A/R and Financial Accounting and supports the Consumer business from a financial perspective for the US Business Unit. The Financial Analyst Co-op will also aid process improvements/projects between Sales, Finance & Operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Aid in preparation of profitability reviews with all Sales Directors within the US Consumer Business.
Reconcile volume rebates, growth rebates, and commission payments for all divisions Sales & Marketing, to ensure payments in a timely manner and account for proper customer support dollars.
Maintain the pricing master file and log of changes for all list prices in the Consumer USA Business and answer pricing related inquiries.
Assist in preparing the annual budgets (cost centers and related areas) in Excel and SAP based on input from Sales and Marketing.
Maintain status and resolve shortage claims from US customers.
Maintain inventory reporting for internal stakeholders (Obsolete Inventory, slow moving) and for customers on a weekly and monthly basis.
Develop automated reports/queries to be used consistently within the Finance group.
Update weekly Sales forecasts to communicate to US Consumer Business
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Monthly reconciliation of rebates and commissions
Manage USA consumer pricing for Trademark and Private Label brands
Complete month end activities to ensure Marketing and Sales group financial results meet accounting standards.
Manage overview of rebate program.
Prepare weekly Sales forecast for US Consumer Business
QUALIFICATIONS:
1-2 years from completing university degree or equivalent education program in business and/or Finance and Accounting.
Must possess good analytical skills and be experienced in using Excel and large application systems.
Must have good inter-personal and communication skills to deal with a variety of people throughout the organization.
SAP knowledge is desired for this position.
Should be detail oriented and a self-starter.
Requires good time management skills to deal with several tasks and prioritize work.
Knowledge of most business functions, with a focus on sales, marketing, and costing.
