Description

The Accountant 2 performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. Additionally, this individual conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects.

Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Operations Finance and Post Adjudication team within Humana Pharmacy Solutions. The Accountant 2 will prepare, record, analyze and report accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.

This accounting professional also provides financial support, including analyzing and preparing data and metrics.

Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
Knowledge of accounting principles and experience applying that knowledge to business transactions.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


Preferred Qualifications


Previous health insurance industry experience working in a Finance/Accounting department.
Previous experience completing data analytics and knowledge of SQL
Prior experience in public or corporate accounting
Strong technical accounting skills
