Director of Financial Reporting
Overview of Position:
The Director of Financial Reporting is primarily responsible for the month-end closing, preparation of periodic financial reporting on the operations of all consolidated entities of SK Global and Critical Content. In addition, position is focused on revenue collection, guild residual and participation reporting for all current and library titles. Position will be based in Burbank.
Role/Responsibilities:
• Film ultimates: prepare periodic reporting of film/TV ultimates including the following:
o Track and record monthly revenue and cost fluctuations
o Review and post deferred revenue receipts and recognize revenue in accordance with GAAP
o Forecast and rebalance film amortization
• Participations & Residuals: compile report of film performance by title for the calculation of third-party participation and residual payments. Issue participation statements as required and coordinate all revenue reporting to the payroll company for guild residual purposes.
• Financial reporting: prepare financial statement packages incl. SK Global and Critical content and subsidiaries.
• Compile and communicate information provided to outside financial auditors and tax accountants
• Perform special projects as needed in support of the finance team.
Specific Job Skills/Core Competencies/ Experience/Education:
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Must be detail oriented with excellent follow through
• Must be a dedicated and reliable team player, able to take initiative and follow through on all tasks
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information is essential
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Microsoft Outlook, and Business Central, Intacct accounting software preferred
• Bachelor's degree in finance and CPA/ big 4 experience preferred; 5 years related accounting experience required.
