Mizuhou2019s Summer Analyst program is an eleven-week program that offers the unique experience of working for a global bank that is rapidly expanding its presence in the United States. Over the last decade, Mizuho has built a leading position in Corporate & Investment Banking in the United States. The program is designed to immerse analysts into the daily activities of our various groups, helping Senior Bankers deliver a client solution approach across our entire product suite. We are looking for students with a strong academic record and a keen interest in the financial markets. Approximately 35 students are hired annually across the country, with the goal of hiring each intern as a full-time analyst following their graduation. nn**PLACEMENT & DURATION**nnWe offer internship programs in New York, San Francisco and Houston.nn**New York: **Interns are given the opportunity to meet with each industry coverage and product group. They will subsequently be placed into two groups, each rotation lasting approximately four weeks. nn**San Francisco: **Technology nn**Houston: **EnergynnDuring the eleven-week program, Summer Analysts take on the same responsibilities as Full-Time Analysts, working side-by-side with Senior Bankers on live projects for existing and prospective clients, as well as financing and advisory transactions. nn**TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT**nnAt the beginning of the internship program, Summer Analysts attend a one-week intensive training program held in New York to build a foundation in the basic skills of financial analysis, accounting and valuation. Development will continue through the summer as analysts work alongside industry coverage professionals on various projects. In addition, analysts will have opportunities to network with peers, mentors and senior bankers through organized events to help them integrate into the culture and atmosphere of Mizuho. nnSummer Analysts will have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills through a group capstone project that will be presented to senior bankers in New York at the culmination of the program. Analysts will have project advisors from the Vice President / Director / Managing Director level to provide feedback and help shape their presentations and analyses. nn**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS**nn- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in the penultimate year with a graduation date between December 2023 and June 2024n- Minimum GPA of 3.25n- Basic knowledge of and interest in financial concepts n- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPointn- Ability to act as a leader and a team playern- Possess a strong work ethicn- Strong oral and written communication skillsnn**ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES**nn- Conduct detailed financial analyses, including valuations and corporate financen- Perform comprehensive company and industry researchn- Develop and prepare client presentations and materialsn- Interact with senior bankers, product partners, and clientsn- Build and maintain financial models to demonstrate projected financial results and valuation n- Participate in the evaluation, preparation, due diligence and execution of financing and advisory transactionsn- Collaborate with peers on a capstone project nn**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**nnMust be able to work on-site at Mizuhou2019s office. nnMizuho currently requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to work on-site (unless a legally-required accommodation or exemption has been approved).
