General Purpose of Job
The role of Financial Analyst - Experienced will analyze a wide variety of financial and patient level data within the Finance department. This role will perform a variety of complex and confidential duties requiring a thorough knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures.
Essential Duties
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
Develops complex spreadsheets to analyze disparate financial data
Collaborates with operational leaders to complete annual departmental operating budget
Prepares ad hoc analysis and benchmarking for assigned divisions or companies
Analyze raw financial data as well develop complicated reports, graphs and presentations and suggest improvement/cost savings ideas
Makes necessary adjustments to ensure routine and project work remain on track and on time
Assist leadership team in preparing reports and analysis with minimal supervision
Participate in Health System financial planning and budget process
Independently meets monthly deadlines
Exhibits accountability and ownership of computer applications used within the department
Maintains own professional growth through appropriate organizations, seminars and workshops
Job Requirements General Requirements None
Work Experience Minimum of 4 years experience in financial analyst role or related business experience Previous financial analyst experience in healthcare setting preferred
Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related business degree, Or minimum 7 years of financial analyst or related business experience in lieu of degree
Specialized Knowledge and Skills Advanced with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Strong spreadsheet software knowledge Ability to work independently and exercise good decision making Able to maintain strict confidentiality Strong attention to detail Demonstrates strong initiative to resolve issues and is a proactive team player Strong verbal and written communication skills
