Provides leadership in driving market research, generating and embedding customer insights into decision making for the US Oncology Solid Tumor brand teams across multiple customer types. Proactively partners with the oncology BI&A and brand (professional, consumer, VA&P, and medical) teams to ensure insights needs are identified and addressed; acts as a thought partner.
Leads a team of market research professionals in developing and executing customized primary research solutions, and delivering customer insights to drive improved decision making. Identifies opportunities and leads the development and deployment of innovative approaches and techniques in market research that reflect best practices.
Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:
Focuses on multiple customer types, effectively leading a team and directing their priorities in line with business needs. Actively coaches the US Oncology tumor market research team
Adapts and prioritizes resources to the needs of the business as tumor and indication priorities evolve
Proactively partners with the BI&A and brand teams and leads the market research team to identify Oncology knowledge needs, shape and properly define research questions to address them. Ensures qualitative and quantitative primary research projects efficiently deliver against knowledge needs
Leads the market research team when developing customized non-standard research solutions to address complex, multi-faceted tactical and strategic business issues
Ensures customer insights are effectively and efficiently communicated. Identifies opportunities and risks, and through the facilitation of discussions with brand teams translates them into actionable recommendations
Proactively identifies and creates opportunities to embed insights and influence decision making in the brand teams
Proactively identifies and creates opportunities for efficient sharing and strategic adoption of best practices and learnings across the therapy area and BI&A, specifically focusing on sharing launch/indication learnings across priority markets
Representative on the BI&A IO virtual team
Develops Market Research plans aligned to business need through collaboration with the Oncology BI&A and brand teams, creating synergies and eliminating duplication
Proactively identifies and leads BI&A organizational initiatives beyond therapeutic and functional responsibilities
List of minimum requirements:
Bachelor of Science in relevant area; Advanced degree in General Business, Finance, Economics, Market Research, Operations Research, Statistics, or Engineering is preferred.
8-10 years relevant work experience
Pharmaceutical industry experience required
Consulting experience working with a national consulting firm preferred
Strong management skills and ability to provide leadership across multiple projects and customer types simultaneously, setting priorities and balancing a heavy workload
Demonstrated active coaching and people development skills
Demonstrated ability to proactively partner with and influence senior levels within and across functional teams
Broad experience in the key functional areas of market research including design and analysis of primary market research, secondary data analysis and higher-level analytics, such as models and forecasting
Experiences of both strategic and operational research techniques and business issues
Experience delivering superior analysis and embedding insights to drive business decisions
Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills; concise and impactful written and verbal communication skills
