The Market Analytics team is the heart of CoStar, capturing market-critical information that enables our commercial real estate clients to make informed, high impact business decisions daily. CoStar Group's research contributes to the most important segment of our economy, helping businesses open offices, retail stores, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities. CoStar Group is seeking a Senior Market Analyst
to join our growing research organization in the LA area
As CoStar SENIOR MARKET ANALYST,
you will compile comprehensive information and data about specific markets (in this case, the Greater Los Angeles area to include parts of the Inland Empire). Responsible for the creation of graphics utilizing both Excel and PowerPoint to showcase market trends and analysis for internal and external presentations and reports. Communicate findings regarding the state of their markets. Work side by side with the Researchers, Pipeline Analysts and Research Managers within their markets to share influential market analysis and trends
This position can be based in either our Ontario, CA, or our Los Angeles office
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for producing meaningful, relevant, and insightful analysis of real estate market conditions for inclusion in CoStar's product offerings.
Content will take various forms, including 1) written narratives in CoStar's market and sub-market reports; 2) visual content included in presentations about the market; 3) verbal discussions about the market with CoStar customers; and 4) written and visual content sent to the media.
Works to compile comprehensive information and data about specific markets utilizing that information and personal market knowledge to develop an informed opinion of overall market conditions and peculiarities.
Prepares edited market reports that identify trends and data inconsistencies.
Uses multiple software platforms to develop/create graphics to showcase market trends and analysis for internal and external presentations and reports.
Responsible for analyzing market data and draw insightful conclusions.
Responsible for utilizing all the data available at CoStar and to manipulate, aggregate and organize this data to uncover trends, patterns and other insights of interest to the commercial real estate industry.
Maintain well-written, timely CRE market and sub-market reports for analysis and commentary on sub-markets and markets covered by CoStar.
Commentary should be relevant, insightful, interesting and thought provoking to CoStar clients.
Regularly review CoStar data for accuracy, timeliness and quality and ensuring errors and outliers are corrected in a timely manner.
Translate analysis and insights into meaningful presentations and deliver them to the market.
Deliver in person and video market updates to CoStar clients and industry groups, focusing on economic and CRE trends in the market.
Other products containing commentary and analysis may be added as the MA team develops strategies to inform Costar clients and disseminate expert market knowledge.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, finance, urban planning or real estate; graduate degree preferred.
5 years of work experience in commercial real estate and familiarity with the local LA and/or Inland Empire markets
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Firm understanding of economic theory and principles and their application to the real estate industry.
Demonstrated writing skills; ability to write effectively and in large volumes.
Strong data and analysis skills, in particular using MS Office.
Good communication skills.
Polished presentation skills.
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
