We are seeking a Portfolio Manager who will contribute to the organization's goals by managing a portfolio of strategic technology projects for one or more business units/departments or Montefiore member organizations. This role partners with senior level executive leaders to optimize capacity and plan successful delivery of business unit/departmental/member hospital initiatives. The Portfolio Manager exhibits strong relationship management and communication skills to build strong partnerships between business units, departments, member organizations and Montefiore Information Technology (MIT). The Portfolio Manager maintains a strategic view of business objectives and how projects fit within those objectives and aligns with individual departmental and the enterprise wide IT roadmaps. The role assists with project prioritization for a designated portfolio and makes recommendations to executive management. The Portfolio Manager leads a team of project managers to achieve business unit objectives and utilizes best practices to ensure effective and efficient execution of a portfolio of programs and projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
*Assess a portfolio of projects and programs in pipeline and during early planning to determine the size, level of complexity and cross-functional impact *Understand and leverage utilization, capacity, and demand reports to assist portfolio owners in determining resource capacity of area and prepare materials for project portfolio review meetings *Participate in the planning of large-complex projects and suggest the approach for successful delivery *Develop advanced knowledge of multiple business areas across the enterprise and their inter-dependencies *Monitor the overall health of the projects in the portfolio, with a focus on scope, budget and timeline and impact across portfolios *Provide effective communication with executive sponsors on the overall status of portfolio *Coach project managers to meet standards in accordance with Montefiore PMO methodologies *Assist with escalations *Cultivate effective networks across the Montefiore organization and its member organizations *Build trust and rapport with project stakeholders and executive leadership across the enterprise *Communicate regularly with business units, departments, and Montefiore member organizations regarding status of portfolios
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
*Expert understanding of project management processes and the project management life cycle *A minimum of 10 years of Healthcare IT project management experience, including project budgets, in a matrix environment *Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint *Experienced in managing staff, including managers *A minimum of 5 years' experience managing a Portfolio of IT/Healthcare projects *Strong portfolio management skills, including the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and assist in determining a team's capacity to take on new work *Excellent communications and interpersonal skills including experience presenting to C-Suite leadership *Solid critical thinking skills *Ability to navigate around obstacles/constraints
PREFERRED:
*Experience with CA Clarity PPM *Experience managing a portfolio in a heavily regulated, compliance-driven enterprise *PMP certification
