Description

The Data Scientist Lead leverages large sets of structured and unstructured data to develop tactical and strategic insights around Ethical AI. The Data Science Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

The Data Science Lead - AI Ethics collaborates with analytic and data teams to set objectives, approaches, and work plans. Serves as a subject matter expert on technical matters of ethical AI especially with respect to the detection and mitigation of bias in a wide range of predictive analytics applications. Works across the enterprise to further the implementation of solutions to ensure the ethical compliance of augmented intelligence. Exercises independent judgement on complex matters and pushes the state of the art at Humana. Interfaces with third parties to spread best practices and collaborates across internal and external teams. Advices executives on key priorities and helps to drive the functional strategy. Leadership oversight has an emphasis on trust and open communication throughout one's daily duties.

Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics and/or related field
5 or more years of professional experience leveraging large sets of structured and unstructured data to develop tactical and strategic insights
Experience in research for algorithmic fairness, transparency, and accountability especially around the detection and mitigation of unconscious bias in machine learning models
Experience developing and validating advanced machine learning models in various domains
Skilled with Python and associated libraries
Experience interpreting and communicating analytic results to analytical and non-analytical business partners and executive decision makers
Able to clearly communicate in and lead conversations on sensitive issues such as gender, race, and income disparities
Flexible, dynamic personality who works well in a team environment and is also able to lead individual contributors
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences


Preferred Qualifications


Master's degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics and/or related field
Healthcare or managed care experience
Experience working with marginalized groups or knowledge of diverse social history
2 or more years of project leadership experience
Experience working with AI ethics stakeholders such as compliance, product, and users
