****POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior VP level Software Developer/Architect to join our Risk Application Development Organization in Norman, Oklahoma. Reporting to the Executive Director of Risk Management Application Development, this is a hands-on technical role.
Applicants for this role will have a track record of technological innovation, applied creativity and delivery – which in this instance means a robust and cost effective development process suited to meeting our client’s current and future needs. It is expected that the successful candidate will be highly effective at managing, motivating and leveraging, teams and resources.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
Lead the architecture, design, development and delivery of MSCI Risk Platform
Lead the architecture, design, development and delivery of the firm’s RiskMetrics application
Help devise a plan for further technology integration across multiple business units
S
erve as a thought leader and mentor on technical, architecture, design and related issues
Have the ability to proactively identify architectural weaknesses and recommending appropriate solutions
Lead and expand a geographically distributed team of highly skilled and motivated individuals that are tasked with implementing the platform and application work
Utilize the team subject matter experts for all competency areas to evaluate, recommend solutions and clarify requirements
Ensure full review of conceptual requirements, system specification documents, detailed hardware and software designs, logistics, training etc., for the subject platform
Closely cooperate with Business and Product Management, Data Operation and IT Infrastructure in defining platform and applications requirements, timeline and success criteria
REQUIREMENTS
8 years software development experience
5 years experience in object-oriented languages, analysis and design, experience implementing service-oriented platforms
Extensive experience in java server-side development including multi-threading programming, messaging middleware, and service-oriented architecture
Strong experience in end-to-end software development life cycle and post-launch production support
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
Full development lifecycle experience
Ability to work well in a team environment
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
This is a hands-on technical role.

he successful candidate will have:
8 years software development experience
5 years experience in object-oriented languages, analysis and design, experience implementing service-oriented platforms
Low-level development and troubleshooting skills (knowledgeable about GC, JVM-tuning)
Strong technical communication skills (justifying design decisions, documenting architecture, documenting APIs)
Have experience with Spring Framework – Dependency Injection, Remoting, Messaging
Object-oriented languages such as Groovy, Python
Have solid expertise with Java server side technologies J2EE such as Java Servlets, RMI, JMS and distributed batch processing systems Multi-tiered distributed architecture frameworks
Multithreaded, scalable design and development
LDAP, JMS, Cryptography (AES,PGP,Kerberos), Javassist
SOAP, Web Services, XML schema/dtd design, XML-RPC, REST
Relational databases, particularly Oracle
Eclipse for Java, SVN, Maven
Eclipse SWT/RCP
Unix Administration
Basic knowledge of C
Experience in financial services a plus
Experience in projects that span multiple geographic locations
