Job ID 21000NG4Available Openings 1Position Available Senior Cost Accountant, Fresenius USA Manufacturing, Inc., an FMCNA co., Irving, Texas Responsible for preparing accurate product cost accounting information and performing related analytical reporting by leveraging extensive background in manufacturing procedures, detailed knowledge of internal organizational policies and accounting best practices. Ensure various account reconciliations and analyses are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Specific responsibilities and duties will include: Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to access accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Assist in the preparation of annual budget and forecasting cycles to ensure accurate product costing and standard cost reporting by preparing material cost, head count analysis, capital, and overhead spending projection across multiple departments. Calculate finished goods and raw material standard cost for the Texas manufacturing site by performing and maintaining the yearly cost roll-up process, including but not limited to planning, studying, collecting and analyzing inventories, direct labor, overhead, and other financial data. Develop and setup annual standard costs and labor and overhead rates for products using close working relationships with production and purchasing departments. Coordinate cost metrics with plant management to drive cost improvements. Analyze monthly manufacturing variances, material usage variance (MUV), purchase price variance (PPV), and direct labor (DL), and advice to production and plant managers on production performance. Reconcile and maintain detailed records of inventory accounts to ensure accurate cost of goods sold. Prepare manufacturing actual versus budget analysis related to recommend cost-effective improvements, including preparing monthly overhead cost reports summarizing the spending versus budget for each department to inform senior leadership about improvement areas. Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information. Audit, monitor, and document internal controls by performing mid-year and year-end internal testing to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance. Maintain controls and procedures to record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions by effectively tracking project spending versus budget, capitalizing completed projects, and accurately calculating depreciation for forecast. Analyze volumes, headcount, overhead spending, and foreign exchange impact for monthly leadership meetings to highlight financial improvement and opportunity areas in response to the organization’s sales strategy. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses. Requirements: This position requires Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field and 5 years of experience performing cost accounting for manufacturing operations. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience performing cost accounting for manufacturing operations. Experience, which may have been gained concurrently, must include two (2) years of experience with: PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft office applications and financial reporting systems; Performing cost accounting and analytical reporting for a manufacturing plant while working with leadership to increase cost improvements; Interpreting financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations, including Generally Accepted Accounting Practices; (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX); and Preparing, examining and analyzing accounting records, financial statements and reports. Qualified applicants must also have at least one year of experience performing monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and intercompany accounts and preparing and presenting month-end close financial results.
