Finance Director, Global Procure-to-Pay

The Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Director is responsible for global 1 st and 3 rd party disbursements, including daily operations and the long-term strategy. The P2P team manages approximately $75B of payments to 3 rd parties and $30B to employees annually. For 3 rd party disbursements, the P2P Director is responsible for the process beginning with supplier onboarding and then all subsequent steps, including the purchase order tool, receiving invoices, approvals, and remitting cash. For 1 st party disbursements, the P2P Director is responsible for the T&E process for employees, corporate credit card payments, and ensuring banks have cash to make payroll. The P2P processes works closely with Procurement, Treasury, Engineering, and Compliance teams and leverages the work of outsourced suppliers in many delivery centers around the world.
The P2P Director is also responsible for managing the process to onboard, calculate, and pay royalties related to Microsoft’s Gaming, Advertisement, and Azure businesses.
This role is a manager-of-managers and leads a team of 30 employees and over 400 vendors. This role is responsible for attracting and growing talent that demonstrate customer obsession, attention to detail, operational excellence, and a growth mindset. This role is part of the Finance Operations Leadership team and partners with other members to shape the service strategies, be aspirational, and ensure our customers are paid on time & accurately.

Process Management
Develops, articulates, and implements a strategic vision for global P2P function. Empowers and coaches the team to execute the vision and achieve scale to support Microsoft’s growing business needs. Enables rhythm of business (ROB) to review operations performance and make improvements. Executes business plans to ensure continuation of business at all times, including in adverse conditions in accordance with existing SLAs.
Continuous Improvement
Oversees the creation, review, and approval of business case proposals for long-term process improvements or within the business. Passionate about technology and finds ways to use Microsoft tecnology to improve the customer experience and scale the process. Collaborates with P2P Cohort participants to develop capabilities plans and articulates potential benefits for prioritization purposes.
Organizational Health
Models the company’s culture and is a leader on team culture initatives (e.g., Diversity and Inclusion [D&I], hiring, onboarding). Capitalizes on team strengths and identifies development areas, strategizing, planning, and executing trainings.
Vendor Management
Reinforces complex global controls when managing multiple vendors who facilitate P2P process. Reviews vendor performance and approves vendor contracts and funding proposals. Assesses vendors and provides feedback regarding service level agreements (SLA) and key performance indicator (KPI) performance exemplified in the reports.
Compliance, Controls, Tax and Audits
Provides strategy and direction to internal P2P team around compliance, Tax and audit. Oversees the creation of controls, execution of existing control, and updating of related policies. Communicates and applies control processes globally to ensure compliance in including Tax related controls. Resolves compliance, Tax and audit issues. Annually reviews risk across the business and designs controls to mitigate risk.

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field.
8 years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
8 years of people management experience
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
5 years of experience in an enterprise-sized, matrixed, and global company
