Job Description
rJob Description r Advises and counsels admitted patients of financial responsibility and self-payments. Processes payments, issues patient receipts, and maintains collection log.
r Job Responsibility
r
r r Interviews patients to obtain necessary financial and insurance information.
r Verifies patients insurance and collects additional insurance such as No Fault and Workers Compensation.
r Performs financial assessment of patients; refers potential Medicaid cases to Medicaid Investigator.
r Gathers documentation and assists in the completion of the Financial Assistance Program (FAU) application process.
r Assists patients and/or families in resolving hospital bills; advises and counsels patients of their payment responsibility due to the hospital.
r Establishes patients pro-rated financial obligations and sets-up payment arrangements/contracts.
r Follows up on scheduled payments via mail and telephone.
r Processes applications for Section 1011, where applicable.
r Maintains daily work log of payments collected.

r Job Qualification

r r High School Diploma or equivalent required.
r 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
