Job Description:
Oman hosts material Shell Upstream and Integrated Gas positions. We have ambitions to grow a position in low carbon hydrogen and ammonia, supplying export markets and supporting local decarbonisation. You will drive our positioning in country and lead commercial support to our large-scale green hydrogen export ambitions.

Shell has been a partner in the Oman’s remarkable development and progress over the last several decades. Our interest in Petroleum Development Oman is core to Shell’s Upstream business and our interests in Oman LNG and Block 10 make us material also to Integrated Gas. Our first solar project was commissioned in 2021 and we participate in Shell Oman Marketing, Oman’s leading downstream retail business.
You will be a member of the Oman Shell commercial leadership team, which provides support across the Upstream, Integrated Gas and Renewable Energy Services businesses. You will lead in Oman our efforts to establish a hydrogen position, working closely with the project Business Opportunity Manager and GM Commercial & New Business Development (NBD). You will play a leading role in developing decarbonization propositions in the local market. You will have a dotted line to the VP Acquisition, Divestment and NBD RES and you will have the opportunity to support other Acquisition, Divestment and NBD activities in Oman and beyond.
What is the Role?
This role will:
Be a core member of Oman Shell's deal teams (as commercial lead or equivalent) pursuing world-scale hydrogen opportunities in Oman.
Lead external engagement on hydrogen in Oman to originate and mature opportunities, in coordination with the Business Opportunity Manager
Partner with colleagues to develop decarbonization propositions for customers in Oman
Work across functions to ensure integration of green hydrogen activities with other Oman Shell activities and to ensure consistency with Shell’s global strategy
Be a key member of the Oman Shell commercial team, supporting the development of more junior staff
What We Need from You?
[Commercial]
A proven track record in international deal making (business development and acquisitions/divestment) having led or played a leading role in complex and material deals in the energy sector.
An understanding of international energy value chains, with breadth of understanding across hydrogen, renewable generation, power, energy products and LNG
Experience in stakeholder management and engagement.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement novel commercial solutions and financial structures.
[Qualifications & Delivery]
Well-developed understanding of energy business, energy trends and decarbonization.
A university degree in finance, engineering, law, economics or related discipline.
[Behaviors & Leadership]
Ability to work across multiple disciplines and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
Passionate about supporting the development of more junior members of their team.
Experienced and effective in working across cultural, regional and business boundaries in achieving common objectives/success.
High level of ‘drive’, ‘can do attitude’ and focused on tangible value outcomes.
Strong interpersonal, influencing & stakeholder management skills.
