Profile

The Billing/Collections Specialist will be responsible for Global Credit related duties. The Specialist is responsible for assisting business units with A/R Risk Management and operational Bankruptcy support.  He/she provides a significant level of support (e.g., research, recommendations, analysis, etc.) aimed at monitoring, managing and mitigating corporate A/R financial losses.  He/she will collect, analyze and interpret industry and financial data while making recommendations that impact the trial balance. The responsibilities directly support efforts to minimize A/R risk and maximize UPS working capital. This position interacts with both internal and external customers as well as vendors and outside companies.
The Billing/Collections Specialist coaches employees to identify potential strategies and resolutions to customer issues. He/She analyzes customer accounts to gauge credit worthiness for customers and to uncover unforeseen financial pitfalls that could result in bad debt. This position evaluates financial ratios, financial statements and a variety of business industry standards when measuring financial strength of current and potential UPS customers. The Billing/Collections Specialist assists the supervisor in training and development of the processing workgroup. He/She generates profitability reports on specific customers, services, and operational initiatives to enable management to analyze overall performance.
Other Duties
Utilize customer financial data to scrutinize requests for small package/SCS extended terms
Recommendation for customer credit limits and pricing inquiries
Second tier escalation point for customer appeals
Bankruptcy Processing (global coordination of BK activities)
Micro/Macro Risk Analysis
Corporate Reporting/Cost Planning
Provide escalation guidance and support to the Credit Card support team
Preferred Competencies
Business, Financial, and Industry Knowledge: Demonstrates a focused understanding of industry and financial trends impacting UPS and/or customers’ organizations; identifies the organizational structure and functions within a business.

Solves Customer Problems: Recognizes customer risk potentials.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions
Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself
Must have experience using Microsoft Office Suite
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) or be a current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience - Preferred
Bachelor's Degree – Accounting, Finance or Economics - Preferred
Associate's Degree -- Business or similar field of study - Preferred
Flexible travel schedule - Preferred
