Overview:
Our client, a connectivity components manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to join their supply chain management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing stocking profiles, generating savings, and rationalizing inventory within the limits set by senior management. They will work with the Financial Controller and finance team to optimize working capital investment, manage production coordination through the supply chain management team, and maintain the integrity and accuracy of data in the company's SAGE 200 system.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory/Stock Management: Optimizing stocking profiles, generating savings, and rationalizing inventory within the limits set by senior management. Managing and maintaining stocking profiles in line with customer usages and standard lead times, and ensuring adequate capacity for stock holding at the company's stocking locations. Coordinating production through the supply chain management team based on customer forecasts and issuing forecasts to factories on time. Ensuring cycle counts are completed on time, and the company's warehouse and third-party logistics providers maintain complete and accurate stock levels.
Reporting: Preparing weekly reports for senior management, presenting stocking profiles and stocking forecasts to the Group Financial Controller to model cash flows, and analysing customer reports received in Excel format and comparing them with data generated from the company's system.
Customers/Accounts Receivable: Assisting the Supply Chain Management team in analysing customer forecasts, maintaining stocking profiles in collaboration with the Supply Chain Management team, confirming them with customers, and coordinating with the Accounts Receivable department to ensure a sufficient backup is in place for customer Sales Invoices.
Factories/Accounts Payable: Approving Purchase Orders to be raised with Raw Materials suppliers, authorizing Purchase Invoices, and working with the Supply Chain Management team and Financial Controller.
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
Qualified accountant with experience auditing FMCG and engineering supplies companies, preferably with a Big 4 or similar practice accounting/training background.
Experience working with Sage 200 or similar accounting packages and high-level Microsoft Excel skills to analyse raw data generated by Accounting/ERP systems.
Strong IT administrative abilities and proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
Ability to build, manage, and sustain internal and external networks and partnerships.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, teamwork, and integrity.
Proven organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and succeed in a deadline-driven environment.
Quick learner with a can-do attitude who will not stop until a resolution is achieved.
This is a management role with opportunities for further growth and development within the company. The successful candidate will report to the Group Financial Controller and Senior Management and will be an integral part of the supply chain management team.
