JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Finance & Reporting supports the Director, Financial Reporting in conducting the region’s month-end closing, operational reporting, and analysis. The individual drives the month-end closing process with the hotels, partners with the property Directors of Finance and Assistant Directors of Finance, consolidates the reporting of annual Operating Business Plans, monthly Forecasts, and validations of statistics.
The Manager, Finance & Reporting adheres to department goals /visions and department standards as defined. This individual will have a wide range of responsibilities supporting several key systems, reporting & accounting functions and analytical activities. This person will be involved in special projects and must be able to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
Position to be based at the CALA Continent Office in Plantation, FL or based remotely in the U.S.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Supports the execution of reporting responsibilities for the lodging properties across all brands in the region: business planning, budgeting and forecasting, Long range Plan, capital budgets, operational analysis, consolidations, and financial reporting with a focus on Franchise execution.
Assists in consolidating and developing reports and metrics of various other required operations data as needed. Supports the region’s leadership in preparing business update presentations.
Assists in receiving and organizing financial data to be used in Continent’s dashboards and other reporting. Seeks data management process improvement including cataloguing commonly used data and automatizing data loads from Hyperion
Seeks and provides alternatives for streamlining data analytics. Creates effective reporting using data visualization techniques.
Prepares and submits routine and ad-hoc financial reports to stakeholders including regional teams and properties in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines. Reports include but it is not limited to month-end, business plans, forecasts and budgets.
Supports overall reporting processes, including but not limited to Actuals, Business Plan, Forecast. (Support the data base update, maintenance, and enhancement of monthly reports (mainly in Power BI & MS Excel)
Supports the preparation of routine Month End/Quarterly presentation. Works in conjunction with CALA disciplines coordinating their contributions.
Supports the yearly Capital Planning process for Managed, Owned and Leased Properties.
Supports Managed Properties month end closing reporting processes for those that operates outside PeopleSoft.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Skill Requirements
Minimum of two years of progressive job experience in accounting.
Excellent computer skills: advance knowledge of MS Excel, Power BI or Tableau, PeopleSoft and/or Hyperion experience is a plus.
Experience in hotel lodging is preferred.
Public accounting experience is a plus.
Strong customer relations skills. Customer service orientation.
Self-starter, highly motivated and team player with a positive attitude.
Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with peers, and all levels of management.
Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple time sensitive assignments simultaneously and work independently.
Able to multi-task; comfortable with complexity, ambiguity, change and process improvement.
Strong communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding and/or Fluency in speaking, writing, and reading Spanish is preferred.
Educational Requirements:
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
