Development (DaVita Venture Group) with DaVita.
DaVita Venture Group (DVG) is a newly formed innovation arm of DaVita,
focused on transforming care delivery to improve quality of life for patients
around the globe. DVG will fund, acquire and partner to develop products
that improve care for patients suffering from kidney disease and related
comorbidities. We are seeking a creative, passionate, and driven
professional with an interest in healthcare to join our team. The team will
primarily focus on device, tech-enabled services and analytic products but
may span other strategic areas as well and will include investments and
partnerships with both early stage and more established companies.
The position is based in Denver, CO and the team operates in a hybrid
(in-person/remote) model.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive market research and support sourcing efforts to help identify new
external investment and partnership opportunities
Conduct research on market trends, competitive landscape, reimbursement,
and other indicators of business viability
Directly engage patients, physicians, and other key stakeholders to
understand the customer perspective
Network with DaVita leaders, investment professionals, and industry experts
Support aspects of due diligence efforts
Gather relevant information from the target company and industry experts
Conduct primary and secondary research to test core assumptions
Perform financial and valuation analyses
Draft internal investment memos
Integration and implementation
Partner with DaVita operating teams to oversee aspects of integration
Work with portfolio companies and strategic partners to design pilots to test
new concepts
Make recommendations on whether to scale or discontinue based on performance
Support development and engagement of junior team members
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Background in financial services, ideally investment banking, corporate
development or corporate finance
Familiarity with the clinical, operational, and financial drivers that
impact decision-making in a healthcare organization (services, pharma,
device, technology sectors are all relevant)
Demonstrated problem-solving, quantitative, and qualitative analysis
skills, including familiarity with financial modeling and business valuation
Intellectual curiosity mindset and enthusiasm for healthcare services and
health tech
Eager to learn and be coached
Strong communication (written, verbal, listening, and presentation) skills
Highly collaborative, team-oriented work-style, pragmatic, and
resourceful problem-solver
Capability and desire to build relationships and network within the healthcare
industry
Responds well to change and has a high tolerance for ambiguity
Approaches work with an unparalleled level of personal ownership,
