Job Description & Responsibilities
Interactive Brokers, a global online securities and commodities broker, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Technical Documentation Writer, preferably with prior exposure to a Compliance environment, to join our Trade Surveillance department. The key deliverables for this role are:
Design and update a variety of document types, such as operating procedures, user guides, manuals, etc.
Update existing documents as needed based on the latest enhancements and interface changes.
Work closely with analysts and Compliance team leads to develop content.
In addition to content creation, the ability to guide document workflows from review to published states is key.
Gather information by observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
Take initiative and proactively pursue a project by interaction with the staff members who source the contents for documents in development.
Translate highly technical, and regulatory specific information into easily understandable information for stakeholders.
Partner closely with training developers to create technical training content.
Edit existing developer-written content in preparation for publication.
Experience creating infographics to communicate workflow processes more clearly.
Must always be diligent in protecting company data confidentiality.
Maintain a library of application documentation, cataloging it for internal and/or external use.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical field such as Business and Economics, Computer Science, or equivalent preferred.
Must have 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer.
Must have 3 years of experience in Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), or Trade Surveillance
Highly motivated individual, proactive and independently takes initiative.
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
Experience with Jira and Confluence (including macros and plugins) is very desirable.
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and picture.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with web technologies and web-based content creation tools.
Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to detail.
Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to provide sample work/portfolio during interview stages.
