Job Summary
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is looking for a Senior Manager to join the Enterprise Procurement team to focus on Construction Labor. This role will work closely with key stakeholders and executive management across HQ, Divisions, and Regions. The Construction Labor category includes Outside Plant (OSP) Construction, Design and Engineering (NDEA), and Locating. The Senior Manager will work closely with Division and HQ stakeholders to manage construction labor by ensuring there is a national strategy that supports Division needs. This includes strategic alignment of stakeholders, business partner management and standardized agreements/rate cards negotiation. This role reports to the Senior Director Construction Labor, Enterprise Procurement. Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, an ability to lead through influence, and considerable experience selling strategy to stakeholders, senior leadership, and partners. Key technical skills for the role include category and supplier management, negotiation skills, and an ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities. An understanding of communications technology, construction, and/or services procurement is beneficial, but not required.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Develop and execute multi-year strategies
Drive strategy alignment and influence decision-making
Develop and execute negotiation strategies; negotiate favorable commercial and contractual T&Cs
Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance
Manage internal stakeholder relationships (engineers to C-Suite)
Understand changing market conditions and align/update strategy to meet business needs and mitigate risk
Other Objectives
Special Projects - Contribute to special projects across the Enterprise Procurement team (diversity targets, sustainability, metrics implementation, tracking, process improvements, etc.) within the scope of Construction Labor
General Candidate Requirements
Desire and ability to learn
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Experience interacting with and presenting to leadership and stakeholders at a variety of levels
Strong project/program management skills
Ability to deconstruct and solve complex business problems; analyze situations, develop strategies, present & persuade others of strategy, effectively & efficiently execute
Ability to pivot/update strategy as requirements and market conditions change
Visual analytic skills - translate requirements and data analyses into audience appropriate presentations to recommend strategies and guide decision-making
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree, with 10 years related experience. Degree in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain/Operations, or preferred, but other majors accepted with right work experience
Consulting experience, master's degree, Telecom/Cable experience is a plus
Highly proficient with PowerPoint
