American National is seeking a full-time Actuarial Analyst to assist the Actuarial team in the Galveston, TX office. The Actuarial Analyst will provide support to the Actuarial team by completing assigned tasks and special projects leading the team to success. Job Responsibilities:
Learn details of annuity products and valuation methodology
Utilize actuarial modeling software for annuity reserves
Prepare routine and ad hoc financial reports for senior management
Prepare and analyze data for monthly annuity financial reporting
Analyze actuarial model assumptions
Make consistent progress in the Society of Actuaries examination process
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, or related field
Completed at least one actuarial exam; two exams is preferred
Strong spreadsheet and/or database skills preferred; programming experience is a plus
Must be comfortable working both independently and on a team
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Must demonstrate noted skills: Organization, Detail, and Effective time management
