The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

Humana Healthy Horizons in Ohio is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer who will be responsible to integrate data from multiple sources to build and maintain data models and data pipeline processes. Design, develop and maintain reports, dashboards, scorecards, data extracts and other end-user information portals or resources. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.

Responsibilities:


Lead requirements gathering sessions with business and technical staff to distill technical requirement from business requests
Define and extract data from multiple sources, integrate disparate data into a common data model, and integrate data into a target database, application, or file using efficient programming processes
Independently perform complex analysis for a wide range of requests, using data in different formats and from various platforms, and identify behavioral data and patterns.
Collaborate with cross functional team to resolve data quality and operational issues and ensure timely delivery of products
Design, build, deploy, and maintain BI reporting to support business requirements
Interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities
Develop comprehensive knowledge of business area processes and information needs and apply that knowledge in developing BI content.


Required Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional experience in data analysis and data reporting
3 years of experience in data visualization tools, preferably Power BI and Tableau
3 years of experience in ETL tools such as SSIS or Alteryx
Advanced SQL skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including ability to link pivots to external data sources, creating pivot tables and summarizing data into reports and dashboards
Advanced Microsoft Access skills including ability to link to external data sources, pass-through queries, data structure and relationship design.
Experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations and/or the analysis of healthcare data
Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple or competing priorities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data


Preferred Qualifications


Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Advanced in SQL, SAS and other data systems
Experience with tools such as Tableau and Qlik for creating data visualizations
Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics
Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling

Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 hours shift. Flexible Start and Stop Times

Training: 2 weeks, virtual training

Work Location: Remote anywhere within Eastern Time zone.Company events at the Office located at : 485 Metro Place South, 5th floor Dublin , OH 43017

Travel: 5-10%
