Our multidisciplinary team seeks a Financial Services Litigator with 2 to 5 years of experience to join our office in Washington, D.C. Top candidates for the position have 2 to 5 years of experience with financial services litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer to hone their litigation skills in a culture that values collaboration and hard work. Candidates must be licensed in Washington, D.C., and Maryland and those licenses must be active and in good standing. An additional license in Virginia is strongly preferred, but not required.
Requirements of the position:
2 to 5 years of prior experience in financial services litigation;
A current license to practice law in Washington, D.C., and Maryland must be active and in good standing;
A current license to practice law in the State of Virginia is strongly preferred;
Experience drafting complaints, answers, motions, and other pleadings;
Experience participating in the development of a strategy for written and deposition discovery; and
Ability to distill research into meaningful and persuasive written work product and to work meticulously to ensure the quality of work product.
Ideal candidates will also have:
Federal court experience;
A team mindset assisting with preparation for trials and evidentiary hearings;
Confidence in serving as a representative of clients and our firm while meeting and conferring with opposing counsel;
Excellent research and analytical skills as well as clear and concise verbal and written communication skills; and
A demonstrated dedication to client service.
