JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, responsible for identifying, evaluating, and planning strategies for improving risk management. May research risk management topics and create suggested behaviors to optimize risk.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the development and maintenance of insurance and risk management policies, procedures, insurance coverage summaries, financing and accounting summaries, and other related programs including the annual Risk Management Policy Digest and Insurance Coverage Summary and other pertinent documentation as required.
Maintains and updates insurance records (paper and electronic files), policies, and databases. Organizes and retains all insurance policy files, including: binders, invoices, policies, endorsements, and submissions.
Liaisons between internal and external customers, insurance carriers, and brokers to support the daily administration of the insurance program. Addresses and resolves all requests and issues timely and efficiently.
Provides content and coordinates growth and development of a Risk Management intranet website to help meet the needs of the user.
Assists with insurance and risk management due diligence reviews for mergers and acquisitions.
Assists in collecting current and historical exposure information, such as claims, revenue data, and payroll data.
Assists with the renewal process of insurance policies.
Checks accuracy of insurance policies and prepares insurance coverage summaries.
Processes certificates of insurance and company auto ID card requests.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree with major in finance, accounting or risk management. Two years within a risk management environment or insurance company or brokerage experience handling national or global accounts preferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
None.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Experience with Microsoft Office required. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred. Internet and on-line RMIS data systems a plus

Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
