As the Head of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and technical expertise at Amgens largest manufacturing facility, Amgen Manufacturing Limited (AML) in Puerto Rico. As a key member of the AML site leadership team, reporting into the VP, Site Operations ( with dotted line into VP, Global Supply Chain) you will orchestrate activities across multiple drug substance, drug product, small molecule, and packaging plants at the site to ensure supply for our patients while delivering on a wide array of cross-functional site and global supply chain network priorities.

Supply Planning accountability for AML Drug Substance, Drug Product, Small Molecule, and Packaging plants including warehouse operations
Oversee the Raw Material procurement process, warehouse operations, and inbound and outbound logistics
Mature functional vision and drive strategy development and deployment to ensure reliable, efficient, and effective global supply in partnership with Site Leadership and the Global Supply Chain Network
Develop the Best Team: lead, coach, and mentor a high performing supply chain organization that is adaptable to meet the dynamic needs of the future and integrated with the broader Amgen network
Champion quality, safety, and compliance culture; demonstrate critical thinking skills and high reliability mentality, ensure work is completed according to cGMP guidelines and Amgen procedures
Build Operational Excellence capabilities through training, project mentoring, and continuous improvement tools and events such as 5S assessment and Kaizen, applying boots on the ground and digitalization approaches
Accountable for monitoring the performance of the supply chain organization and the manufacturing site with respect to local and integrated supply chain network objectives
Accountable for developing functional objectives, long-range strategy, and associated budgets in alignment with overall site and Amgen goal
Leadership: ability to lead both direct reports and cross-functional teams; strong situational leadership skills, ability to lead staff at all levels of the organization. Ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff.
Collaboration and Teamwork: builds positive working relationships across the network, can effectively motivate and influence cross functional teams, partners, and executive management to resolve issues
Communication: ability to distill complex information and tailor verbal and written communications in a concise, logical, and audience-appropriate manner (English and Spanish)
Problem Solving & Decision Making: ability to tackle complex and ambiguous problems, provide clarity of thought, and deliver results. Able to make risk appropriate decisions, escalate when necessary in a timely manner.
Accountability and Autonomy: independent self-starter. Ability to set clear goals and effectively prioritize team's workload, operate autonomously and deliver high-quality work output while under pressure and in teams.
Analytical and Financial Skills: quantitative skills, demonstrated ability to manage a budget, negotiate, resource plan, set goals, measure performance, generate insights based on business and financial analysis
Robust digital literacy: understands and uses variety of software applications and digital collaboration tools (MS Office, Teams, WebEx, Miro, Smartsheet) and has a basic understanding of analytics and visualization tools

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate degree 6 years of Supply Chain support experience OR
Masters degree and 10 years of Supply Chain support experience OR
Bachelors degree and 12 years of Supply Chain support experience And
6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Finance and/or Industrial Engineering
8+ years of experience in Business Planning, Manufacturing or Supply Chain Functional Operations
Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., cGMP, OSHA, EPA, import/export, etc.) and familiarity with GMP quality systems/processes such as change control, non-conformances, CAPAs, and qualifications/validation
Understanding of Amgens Supply Chain systems and processes including ERP-SAP, Rapid Response
Operational Excellence experience in a regulated industry with a continuous improvement mentality
Availability for international business trips and to support non-standard shift organization with the flexibility to work extended hours
