Summary of role
Reporting Directly to the SVP Finance, the role includes forecasting and supporting divisional financial outlook through working relationships with multiple departments within the organization. It involves assessing marketing conditions, conducting analyses, data aggregation, and negotiating with peers and superiors to set revenue expectations for the current and future fiscal years. The team will report on forecast variances and provide analyses on strategic opportunities to achieve maximum performance.
Focuses will be managing the Degree business unit of 2U wide revenue, expense, and operations forecasts. It will include collaborating with department stakeholders on a regular basis to analyze quantitative metrics and gather qualitative information about program performance to produce an independent forecast. The role will be responsible for building and maintaining forecasting tools and messaging performance to internal and external teams. It will also include building key relationships with stakeholders and providing support on ad hoc data requests.
This role will serve as a financial lead for program related subject matter from forecasting revenue and expenses to providing program management assessments on key operations decisions. The role will require a large amount of subject matter expertise, organizational skills, attention to detail, and leadership.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Overall accountability for day-to-day Graduate Financial Planning and Analysis team
Assist in the integration of new team members and education of the business in the finance operating model
Ensures revenue and enrollment forecasts are completed timely and accurately
Provides support for Monthly Operating report for MD and SVP of Finance
Develops strategic goals for team to drive results and efficiency
Key point for developing new financial systems and reports
Production of month end management information packs, including supporting variance analysis and commentary
Manage the quarterly forecasting processes undertaking reviews with the finance business partners
Presents revenue forecasting results to the Degree leadership Team
Utilize data to provide strategic recommendations to department leads on financial analysis, cost identification, and expense analysis
Analyze operating results and identify key financial and operating areas to be addressed
Development and preparation of 10-Q and 10-K earnings metrics
Works across 2U departments to ensure information sharing, accurate forecasting / understanding and analysis of business trends
Owner of New programs once Contract is executed
Aid in the quarterly strategic planning process through preparation of data aggregation and analysis, future margin forecasting, and other requested supporting growth metrics
Things That Must Be in Your Background:
6-8 years financial analysis experience
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Finance, Economics, or Mathematics strongly preferred
Experience managing direct reports
Demonstrated experience cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with employees at multiple levels: peer, manager, executive
Advanced knowledge and ability with Excel, Powerpoint and database management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

In Colorado, the anticipated base salary for this role is $150,000, with potential bonus eligibility. Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate’s assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate.
