Position Summary
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking a high-performing Corporate Development Analyst to join its growing Corporate Development Team in [Bay Area]. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on M&A, fundraising, and strategy experience as the Company is very active having completed over 10 M&A and fund raising transactions in the last 2 years.
This individual will be directly involved across two broad areas:
Inorganic Growth: Supporting new deal origination, execution, and integration; general financial analysis, including, but not limited to, supporting growth initiatives through potential M&A transactions. This individual will support prospect evaluation, financial modeling, valuation and risk analyses, due diligence, and deal structuring. The analyst will also analyze industry prospects and acquisition targets by gathering information about growth, competitors, and market share possibilities.
Strategic Planning: Includes creating financial projections for the Company and providing financial insights to management. Your projections and analyses will be used in decision-making, driving strategic decision making, and long-term capital allocation decisions. You will build detailed forecasts based on a combination of historical data and forward-looking market assumptions, prepare accurate and insightful financial models to be used by senior management, investors, board of directors, and research analysts. You will assist in the preparation of presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items, and effectively frame decisions that need to be made.
The ideal candidate has a combination of strong business acumen, communication skills, financial modeling proficiency, a positive work ethic and a track record of success.
The Experience You'll Need:
2-3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or venture capital
Strong preference for someone that has gone through a 2-year investment banking analyst program
Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, forecasting, analysis, and financial reporting
Self-starter who excels in technically demanding, fast-paced, and fluid environment
Ability to analyze data and frame/communicate complex concepts and analysis in PowerPoint; build presentation materials and present to senior executives
Willingness to step up to greater responsibility, strong desire to contribute to overall goals
Strong interpersonal skills and ability gain respect of senior management and external executives
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics
Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally
Team player willing to “roll up their sleeves”, self-motivated, proactive, organized, and positive attitude
Demonstrated analytical skills, fluency in performing rigorous financial, valuation, and other quantitative analyses
The Impact You'll Make:
Identify and research potential acquisition opportunities through market analysis and interactions with business partners.
Perform reporting and analysis on M&A activity and strategic partnerships in the industry
Supporting deal teams in all aspects of M&A transaction lifecycle including market research, business case development, financial modeling, due diligence & execution
Support fundraising efforts across the Company’s capital structure, building complex financing deal model development to financing-related due diligence and cross-functional project management.
Build components of the Board of Directors presentations, Investor Relations materials, internal presentations, and play a role in any financing and M&A activities
Work closely with FP&A and the business to understand, develop, and report on key operational and financial metrics
Analyze competitive behavior, market trends, shareholder concerns and other factors to inform investor communications and corporate strategy
Presentations and data visualization - turn data and corporate strategy into decks for internal and external stakeholders
Build and maintain relationships with the key stakeholders in the ecosystem, both internal and external
