The main responsibility of the Accountant role is to process financial transactions to Liberty's Reinsurance Financial Source System (URS). Uses Underwriting (ARMMS) and Claims (ARCS) systems to ensure handoffs between groups is performed accurately and efficiently. Works with brokers as part of exchange of information, results, and cash settlements. Contributes to the accuracy of Liberty Mutual Reinsurance US's Financial and Operational reporting.
With some guidance, executes book-close activities in a deadline focused environment, highlighting key issues and collaborating with the team to address them. 
*Note- this position is open to a hybrid work model in our Boston office.*
Resonsibilities:
Manage financial data that resides in URS, which ultimately posts to the Liberty general ledger. This spans from setting up contracts (e.g. ceding company name & contract terms) to booking financial transactions (e.g. paid losses & premium).
Work with external parties (brokers and ceding companies) and internal parties (Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, Operations, and Treasury) to ensure timeliness and accuracy of results.
Facilitate the handoffs between URS and other key systems, such as ARMMS and ARCS. Will manage a portal tasks that will be monitored for various analytics.
Respond to all types of inquiries, from whether a statement has been received from a broker, to providing support for a balance on our Balance Sheet.
Ensure organization of data and communications adheres to LMRe US's policies.
Facilitate the receipt or payment of cash to ceding companies.; using various platform depending on type of payment (e.g. ACH or wire, USD or foreign currency).
Use analytics and controls to ensure accuracy and reasonability of results; from reviewing own inputs to challenging statements/handoffs from other teams. 
Bachelor's degree (Finance or Accounting) and a minimum of 1 year of accounting or finance experience required.
Must demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to achieve results.
Must be able to communicate effectively with teammates, collaborate to solve problems, and raise issues and concerns in a variety of settings including business meetings.
Expected to interact with management and other units to gather information and present results/recommendations.
Intermediate with Excel is required.
Openness to learning new/unique systems is required.
