Purchasing & Supply Associate II
to join their team. This position will work independently with minimal guidance, and must remain professional at all times. The Purchasing Agent should strive for excellence in all aspects of the position, especially as it pertains to customer service and stakeholders. The Purchasing Agent will apply inventory tracking and warehouse policies to ensure proper inventory turnover and reordering supplies if necessary.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Comply with and maintain knowledge of applicable rules, legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices.
Provide guidance and assistance with the identification, selection, acquisition and delivery of quality goods and services in a cost effective, efficient and ethical manner
Serve as the main contact person for his/her assigned areas to answer questions, provide instruction and to assist stakeholders with utilizing the University’s electronic procurement system, GrizMart, to their maximum benefit
Maintain records to support bids and purchase orders
Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and University vendors
Review and analyze purchase requisitions and contracts to ensure their compliance
Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors to identify needs and refine specifications
Operate Fork Lift, lift gate, small trucks, and other vehicles in pursuit of supply reception or delivery
Required Skills

Understanding of electronic procurement environment
Understanding of Microsoft Office programs to include Outlook
Knowledge of stocking and warehouse policies
Knowledge of inventory maintenance and reconciliation
Knowledge of how to process damage claims. Delivery of all received items to customer or to the warehouse.
Complete knowledge of how to retrieve a Material Safety Data Sheet (M.S.D.S.). 5) Complete knowledge of OSHA and state rules and regulations concerning the recycling of fluorescent lamps and Campus Stores procedures.
Physical and warehouse abilities
Lifting and carrying items weighing from 25 to 75# occasionally
Reaching, stretching and twisting of mostly upper torso
Driving manual transmission delivery and pickup truck
Operation of forklift and pallet jack
Activities related to the day-to-day operation of a warehouse
Minimum Required Experience
High School diploma and two (2) years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience
