**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science – Customer Data who will design and build scientific solutions to gain a deeper understanding of our customers in a variety of areas as well as the technical development of the software and processes needed to bring solutions to life in our Corporate and Store environments.
The Customer Data Science team is responsible for answering complex, foundational and business impact questions. By providing answers to these questions, we will be more customer centric, improve customer experience, customer retention, and customer base through the application of scientific rigor, data science and methodological innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead technical efforts applying scientific methods and rigor to produce meaningful and value-added data insights and products to complex and very ambiguous problems
Lead processes with business partners and cross-functional team to understand business problem and document results
Proactively hypothesize and identify areas of opportunity where ML could be applied to benefit the business leveraging all sources of data and advanced analytical techniques
Lead the team in creation of data science solutions/products and become a subject matter expert to help improve customer experience, acquisition, conversion, retention, customer base, customer lifetime value and loyalty programs
Develop data science solutions for deeper understanding of customer behavior/motivations/needs to inform business decisions and strategies to improve customer experience/business outcomes by fusing structured and unstructured data like social media, digital/online forums etc.
Develop customer centric models, customer level predictive models, probabilistic models and products using machine learning and other advanced methods to inform on customer journeys, causal relationships, segments, preferences, purchasing patterns, propensity to buy, impacts on lifetime value, acquisition, and retention
Synthesize analytics and statistical approaches into easy-to-consume storylines, both visually and verbally, and present the results in a manner that is interpretable
Lead efforts in value targeting, business case development, and backlog (of inquiries) grooming. Provide technical mentorship for teammates and cross- functional team partners. Collaborate with other engineers and product team members to implement and deploy scalable solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
6 or more years’ experience in data science, data analysis, data mining or other similar business functions. (Advanced degrees in relevant fields may be counted towards experience)
1 or more years managing/leading a team of data scientists and related efforts of such a team
2 or more years’ experience with cloud storage platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure or Snowflake) , Big Data analytics (Databricks, Spark) and data science platforms (Pandas, Tensorflow, SparkML etc.)
4 or more years’ experience coding SQL and Python or R
Strong experience working with various statistical modeling and ML techniques such as:
Supervised Learning
: Multiple regression, time series analysis/forecasting, decision trees, random forests, lasso/ridge/elastic nets, logistic regression, propensity scoring, survival analysis;
Unsupervised Learning
: K-means, association rules, hierarchical clustering, PCA, distance matrices;
Recommendation engines
: matrix factorization, collaborative filtering;
Bachelor's degree in a highly quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Operations Research
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or Ph.D. in a highly quantitative field such as Statistics, Math, Operations Research, or Physics
6 or more years of hands-on data science experience preferably in retail/ecommerce in addition to an advanced degree
Experience using high performance ML and/or data mining frameworks
