SUMMARY: This position will report to the Grain Elevator Margin Manager for the Local Grain Services LGS program in a supporting role. Primary responsibilities include purchasing physical corn soybeans and wheat for delivery into Tyson grain elevators managing the purchase-to-pay process for grains and oilseeds in the assigned areas contracting with farmer vendors and retailers of corn for truck delivery securing forward supplies of spot delivery for grain elevators managing inventory levels at assigned grain elevators promoting the LGS platform and programs to farmers and maintaining hedges related to forward purchases of grain. Other duties include: Developing and maintaining daily grain and oilseed bid sheets; coordinating deliveries with the Manager of Commodity Transportation; approving transactions and entering contracts in the LGS portal and Tyson s system of record reviewing and utilizing market reports data and analysis to develop purchasing tools and hedging strategies traveling to farmer gatherings to meet with farmers and explain the LGS portal to farmers hedging purchases and building and maintaining position reports related to purchases. This position will also work to develop maintain and enhance relationships with the local community and industry associations to forward Tyson s best interests in grain origination. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Broad knowledge in a financial or agricultural field normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor s degree or equivalent. Preference for a degree in Finance Ag Economics or Ag Business. Experience: 1 plus years experience required in a grain merchandising role or 5 years in a similar type of role in purchasing or trading. Computer Skills: Standard computer skills; experience in Microsoft Office applications required. Experience with SAP Agris Endur and RightAngle a plus but not required. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to present in a large group setting Special Skills: Knowledge of merchandising practices and flexible contract pricing methods; analytical; ability to relate to the needs of the farmers work with a wide variety of teams and suppliers work with numbers problem solve prioritize and multi-task. Supervisory: 1-5 direct reports. Travel: 10-20 domestic trips per year.
