Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries
(MMBSI) is a Commercial Banking business located in 125 offices across the US
and Canada. MMBSI provides credit, cash management, capital markets and
corporate finance advisory solutions to corporations, municipalities and
not-for-profit entities via our Core Banking or Specialized Industries teams.
Banking teams generally focus on clients with annual revenues of $20 million to
$500 million. Within our Specialized Industries practice, we have experts
strategically focused on serving businesses within a variety of industry
segments, including, but not limited to: Agribusiness, Government, Healthcare
and Technology.

 

The MMBSI Financial Analytics team, in partnership with business
managers, strategy and other finance teams, leads the business and financial
analytics for MMBSI’s leadership team. The team provides analyses associated
with the business’ strategy, financial performance, and industry trends for the
Commercial Bank’s operating committee, MMBSI, quarter-end, and presentations at
Investor Day and industry conferences. The ED will lead all MMBSI’s strategic
financial analytics book of work for key segments and drive E2E management of key
business initiatives and key projects.  The individual will be the primary
point of contact for MMBSI CFO and the MMBSI Segment Heads and Product leads

Candidate's Responsibilities:

Lead the
analysis of business and financial performance for key segments and
industries, incorporating the competitive landscape and industry trends Development, consolidation and presentation of
insightful and robust qualitative and quantitative financial analysis for
segments including: Multi-year
annual budget Monthly
outlook process forecast Monthly and
quarterly closeAccountable
for end-to-end ownership of all MMBSI business and financial updates, to:MMBSI ExCo
updateInvestor
presentations/external disclosures, in partnership with Investor
RelationsAd hoc
analyses for the CFO evaluating business performance by segment,
headcount, compensation, ROISegment Expense
analysisCreate, maintain and review financial models
and analyses (both recurring and ad-hoc) for key business initiatives Drive deep dive analyses on key
issues impacting clients and business to determine root cause and propose
solutionsProduce presentations, analysis and supporting
materials for key internal clients including senior managementPartner with Business
Management and Analytics and Reporting teams to develop insightful
reporting, focusing on drivers, and the “so what, now what?” dialogue Develop and maintain relationships with
Finance teams across the CB and the Firm to ensure understanding of the
balance sheet and associated income statements initiatives Lead MMBSI
MIS strategy; partner with the other MMBSI Finance groups, technology and
operations to execute on strategic platform development as well as
short-term enhancements Ensure clear
communication of strategic direction, senior management expectations,
timelines and deliverables Develop,
retain and attract a talented team of strategic finance professionalsDirectly manage
a team of 10 people

Qualifications:

BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Accounting, and
understand Corporate Finance with at least 10 years, preferably in
financial services Strong
team leader and change agent; passionate about developing the Financial
Analysis function of the future, leveraging data analytics and
visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)Ability
to work across senior levels of the organization, including the Head of
MMBSI, in a leadership role and drive changeStrong
judgment, professional maturity, personal integrity, strong work ethic,
proactive and results-oriented, fact based, has the courage to ask the
tough questions and challenge the status quo and manage multiple tasks
simultaneously Strong
quantitative, critical thinking and analytic skills, excellent
quantitative and analytical problem solving skills, confidence with
finance and accounting concepts, understanding of financial statements,
has the ability to comprehend and clearly communicate complex concepts in
a fast-paced, dynamic environment and provide strong documentationStrong
