American National is seeking an Intern in our Springfield, MO location.
Qualifications:
Intern must be pursuing a degree in business, finance, insurance or related area.
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with a graduation date of December 2022 or May 2022
Team Description:
The Portfolio Underwriting team provides support to the underwriting division through data-driven analysis of various information types and sources. Team members of the Portfolio Underwriting unit work in cross-functional teams to review and analyze trends, and segments of data. This work helps the underwriting teams make informed decisions using powerful data to improve profitability. Job Responsibilities:
Seeking two summer interns that will work as part of the Portfolio Underwriting team and support the Portfolio Manager by conducting data analysis of various segments of business and reporting key findings.
Review and analyze data from Property & Casualty lines of business and other applicable segments
Participate in market analysis and assist in the development of underwriting guideline/process changes
Actively participate in team meetings and ad hoc meeting requests
Work with Underwriting leadership on key initiatives with high visibility
Work independently and with other interns to report key findings to the portfolio team
Conduct project work that will have a lasting and impactful effect on the underwriting division
Work closely with an assigned mentor
Complete other tasks and special projects as required

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Schedule: Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote)
