Community Solutions Inc. (CSI) is a nonprofit organization that promotes the responsible citizenship, accountability, and well-being of individuals and families involved, or at risk of involvement, in the child welfare, juvenile justice, or criminal justice system.
We are currently seeking a dynamic individual who is forward thinking and possess the skills to lead our finance team with change management, collaboration and customer service.
Since CSI’s founding in 1962, it has been a pioneer in the community-based service. We have been delivering supervision, treatment, and comprehensive individualized services to help clients interact more effectively in their communities and become productive citizens. Using this plan we built the first ever halfway house in New England which has now been replicated and grown to almost 50 programs in 9 states. For over 50 years, CSI has been building upon its successful foundations and has been expanding its services to serve thousands of adults, youth, and families each year.
As the Controller you will report to the CFO and be responsible for the management of all financial work for the Agency. Your primary responsibilities will be overseeing the direction of financial affairs and financial analysis. In conjunction with the CFO you will be responsible for the Agency’s financial plans, policies and accounting practices.
Some of the essential functions of this role are:
Develop and implement internal financial controls/compliance with grant and audit requirements.
Develop, analyze and interpret accounting information.
Direct accounting personnel using GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and forecast the Agency’s financial position.
Assist with budgets in conjunction with the Director of Contracts.
Coordinate annual independent audit with the Agencies CPA firm.
Manage the annual inventory of all property and equipment.
Train and assist managers in the development and monitoring of operating budgets.
Develop, negotiate and implement contracts and service agreements.
Manage insurance policies including D&O, general liability, workers compensation, unemployment, health and disability.
Represent the Agency at business related meetings with state, federal, private, and prospective new funding sources.
Provide oversight of the food services operations and supervises the food services manager.

Qualifications
Master's Degree and a minimum of six years administrative or financial experience of which at least three years must have been in a progressively responsible supervisory capacity.
Bachelor's Degree and eight years of administrative or financial experience of which at least five years must include supervisory experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and with all applicable and regulatory requirements (federal, state, and local), government accounting principles, practices and procedures, audit and management practices.
Able to communicate (both written and oral) with program staff and outside agencies in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner with the ability to communicate complex financial issues in simple, understandable terms.
Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask.
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
Working knowledge of Great Plains system preferred
