SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The AIB Group Data Protection Officer (DPO) has established a team that acts as the statutory DPO function for the AIB Group, including AIB plc, AIB Mortgage Bank, EBS dac, Haven Mortgages and Goodbody Stockbrokers. This role is one of two manager roles in a rapidly growing team.

 

The managers within the Data Protection office are responsible for helping to shape the future of the team, supporting the DPO in the execution of her tasks, and for providing best in class advice and support to the AIB Group.

 

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

*Support the Group Data Protection Officer (DPO) in the execution of her tasks as mandated by the GDPR. *Undertake a risk-based advisory role that effectively challenges senior management and business leaders, and influences strategic decisions. This challenge must demonstrate technical understanding of regulatory matters and thought leadership. *Develop reporting and papers outlining the independent second line view of the DPO, and present at relevant Risk and Board Committees. *Support the bank by identifying and managing upstream risks and regulatory change related to data protection regulation, including monitoring of fines and case law across the EU and beyond. *Lead a team as a player coach, including the on boarding and training of new hires. *Contribute to the overall strategic direction of Compliance by supporting the Compliance Senior Management Team.

YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW US THAT YOU CAN/HAVE:

 

*Deep expertise in data protection regulations, directives, standards and guidelines. *Proven understanding and experience of the Banking (preferred) or Financial Services sector and banking products. *Proven experience of Compliance and Risk Management in the Banking (preferred) or Financial Services sector and associated risks, clear understanding and knowledge of risk management methodologies. *Proven experience in managing relationships with senior stakeholders and regulators including the Data Protection Commission. *Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
