Description
ESS Business Intelligence is an Enterprise Shared Services team focused on data, reporting and data science supporting Humana's Service Operations. The team is focused on converting data to actionable insights for our business partners who can utilize to reduce administrative cost and improve the customer's experience.
Responsibilities
Humana is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer 2 to support the Data Governance & Analytics area within ESS. In this role, you will acquire, clean, attest and govern service data to drive experience and efficiency improvements for our stakeholders. This person will also become the subject matter expert associated with data sets and ensure that the data flowing into and out of their environment meets the objectives of the business owners.
Responsibilities:
Work with each of the business teams to understand the requirements including data retention policy.
Document the data requirements that would cater to the needs of the reporting requirements.
Audit the resources who have access to the data sets the steward owns periodically.
Review access requests for the datasets the data steward owns.
Provide any assistance needed by other teams for adhoc requests.
Work with Data Management team to ensure that the data collected/aggregated caters to the needs of the business users.
Ability to interact with business and IT departments in understanding user needs.
Able to translate the business needs to technical requirements in terms of data needs.
Managing appropriate use and definition of service data.
Develop data requirements for system enhancement.
Being agile and responsive to changing business needs.
Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
Be an innovative thinker with an innate curiosity around data.
Be self-motivated and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience in problem analysis and process documentation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Data Science, IT or related field.
3 or more years of experience in a Data and/or Analytics role.
1 or more years of experience working in IT, having familiarity with best data practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
Experience in assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis.
Experience in leading the management of data with an eye for data quality and compliance of data standards.
Ability to balance competing priorities to drive for the best outcome.
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
Knowledge of the healthcare insurance industry.
Data stewardship experience a plus.
Previous experience with Genesys or other consumer experience equivalent platforms a plus.
Azure Certifications a plus.
Experience with Data Taxonomy Development.
Experience in Database structure design.
Project Management Experience a plus.
